Yeah I think there was a time when he was scary, I was a little upon seeing it sometime after its initial release, he was scary unlike Jason Voorhees, who I never thought was scary, simply because he was far too cool to be scary. He would have been even scarier if they hadn't toned down the child molester aspect of Freddy, I like what they did in the remake.

I never found him scary, I was a little older when I saw him for the first time and was more amused by him than anything. But he definetly was darker in the first one, so he's definetly become less darker/scaries as the series went on.

They need to do Freddy again and this time make him like those characters in all the brutal movies that have come out in the last few years, just let him go for it and be as cruel as possible, maybe then he will be scary again.
